Walk for Adoption

When: Saturday November 6th
Come celebrate National Adoption Month with us as we Walk for Adoption Saturday November 6th at 10am at the Old School Forest Preserve in Libertyville, IL.
The walking path is stroller friendly so load up those strollers and bring the whole family! The park is also pet friendly, just make sure the furry members of your family are on a leash.

Everyone who cares about adoption is invited; whether you are a member of a birth family or adoptive family or just have an appreciation for the miracle of adoption.
To show your support of adoption, wear white.

There is no charge to attend the walk, but they do need people to register, so they can get the correct permit for thegroup.
More information, including the link to register, can be found on the blog made for the walk.

AdoptShops with Jane Brown

Download the flyer

AdoptShops give children and young teens the opportunity to explore their ideas about adoption and to interact with their peers. AdoptShops are relevant to all adopted children and young teens whether they were adopted domestically, transracially, transculturally or by extended family members. Each AdoptShop is two hours long. Afterwards, Jane debriefs parents to advise them of issues that arose during AdoptShops. During this time, childcare is provided for the children in a different room.

Jane Brown is a long-time social worker and educator with years of experience working with children and young adults. She is a mother of eight children, five of whom are adopted from Korea, China and Hong Kong. Jane is a well-known speaker on adoption matters and sits on the board of Adoptive Families magazine. She has presented AdoptShops in Chicago for the past several years.
